Fried and Gone to Heaven – National Fried Chicken Day

PR Article – Undertow Media 2021

Who would say no to celebrating National Fried Chicken Day (6th July) with some of the best chooks in the business! Get our there and have a finger licking good time!

Enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the capital at Dirty Little Secret, while tucking into the aptly named Dirty Birdie menu. Indulge in a selection of finger-licking fried
chook dishes including OG crispy fried tenders, a phat burger or fried chicken bowl.

If quality and quantity is the way you celebrate, then go no further than Jack Hackett’s and Four Kings – both pubs are locked, loaded and ready for peckish Wellingtonians, offering two hours of bottomless wings for $25 from 5pm. A sure fire way to test your hen-durance!

Down the road at The Cambridge, enjoy a plate of fried chicken on the house when you buy a drink after 5pm or try the im-peck-ably good two-for-one Korean fried chicken at The Old Bailey. Glazed in scrumptious sticky sauce, it’s a dish (and a deal) to get egg-cited about.

Fret not, Auckland – Viaduct hotspot Dr Rudi’s has just the medicine for you, with a two-hour window to fill your boots (and stomachs) with bottomless wings for $30. Sauced to perfection – take your pick from BBQ, hot or ghost pepper hot.

If that’s not enough, fly down the road to Britomart hangout The Chamberlain to check out their brand spanking new Tasty as Cluck menu. Choose your weapon of choice – a breast, wing, thigh, drum, tender fillet (or heck one of each) – served with sliced bread and pickles, at the heat of your choice! Then there’s a stack of sandwiches, salads and sides including chipotle mac and cheese, mash and chicken gravy and spicy fries. So good it’s like poultry in motion.

Taking it to another level is cult chicken joint Winner Winner where punters can buy one get on free on all fried chicken baskets. Catch the return of their infamous spicy Korean fried chicken for one week only (5th – 11th) or pay a visit to their Takapuna and Wellington stores on Friday 9th July (8-10pm and 8.30- 10.30pm respectively) and Pukekohe from 5.30pm on Wednesday 7th July, for two hours of bottomless fried chicken and Garage Project tap beer for $44.

Want more? Keep your eye on their gram and hedge your bets for the chance to win a year’s supply of the good stuff!
