Magic Mike’s Last Dance | Movie Review

Gather up the girls because Channing Tatum is back on screen as Mike Lane, the male stripper who danced his way into our fantasies. The final film in the franchise, ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’ is here and it’s the light-hearted and entertaining romp we were looking for.

Watch the trailer below and see what one of our editor’s thought about the film.

Magic Mike’s Last Dance: What’s it about?

Just in time for Valentine’s Day comes the third instalment of the blockbuster “Magic Mike” film franchise, the musical comedy “Magic Mike’s Last Dance.”

“Magic” Mike Lane (Tatum) takes to the stage again after a lengthy hiatus, following a business deal that went bust, leaving him broke and taking bartender gigs in Florida. For what he hopes will be one last hurrah, Mike heads to London with a wealthy socialite (Hayek Pinault) who lures him with an offer he can’t refuse…and an agenda all her own. With everything on the line, once Mike discovers what she truly has in mind, will he—and the roster of hot new dancers he’ll have to whip into shape—be able to pull it off?

What did our editor think: review

It is so good to be back with Channing.

Magic Mike’s Last Dance turned out to be the perfect treat for a recent girls night – I mean, who doesn’t love a light-hearted story with a sexy man at the helm.

Set after the pandemic, the movie follows Mike (Tatum) who is now a bartender after the loss of his business. While working at a party for socialite Maxandra Mendoza (Hayek), he is propositioned with an opportunity he can’t refuse. Landing in London, Mike is tasked with bringing to life a show in Maxandra’s vision – a story about how a divorced woman can have it all!

What a ride. Magic Mike’s Last Dance feels a little different to the previous films but it is still jam-packed with the heart and steamy dancing that made this franchise what it is. I loved how they tied-in some of the old characters, how the new direction offered up a mix of tense and romantic moments, and while I wish Channing had danced more, I will say that the scene in the rain will continue to live in my head rent free – so hot.

While the story as a whole doesn’t add anything entirely new to the franchise, I still had a great time and would definitely recommend it, especially if you’re looking to watch something with a nice view 😉.
