If your eyes are the window to your soul what does that make your lips? A glimpse into your magic personality inside? Whatever it may be, we often forget about our lips when were out in the sunshine during summer and sometimes we need to give them a little extra TLC to make them soft and luscious again.
Start with a lip scrub
Scrubs are the latest skin care craze and, no, I’m not talking about the kind of scrubs that TLC sang about when they claimed that “no, I don’t want no scrub! ” They’re made out of sugar (some may be made out of coffee) and they are essential for taking off all the dead and flaky skin on your lips. If your lips have been slightly burnt and are beginning to chap and peel the scrub will get rid of all of that and essentially give you a clean canvas.
Stay hydrated!
I know this one is easier said than done and it’s also not a quick fix but beauty really does come from the inside out so you must stay hydrated! Aim for two litres a day, however in warmer weather you will need a bit more so aim for three at least.
Use a lip balm
Lock in the hydration on your newly smooth lips by using the likes of a chapstick. If you have time then use this daily before bed and every morning when you first wake up. Your lips are going to be super sensitive to the weather. It doesn’t matter if it’s hot or cold, both temperatures can dry them up and need that extra bit of protection.
Choose a good quality lipstick
Lipsticks can be made with all sorts of nasty parabens. Parabens are little chemicals that have been put into makeup since the 1950’s to keep away bacteria but sometimes they do more harm than good. If a lipstick contains beeswax but your allergic to bees then stay well away! Opt for a lipstick that contains natural ingredients and has natural colouring in to help you pucker up.
So there you have it, the perfect secret to gorgeous kissable lips. So what are you waiting for? Pucker up!
