Morning Grainy Salad
Salad for breakfast sets your day on a virtuous path. Toss cooked quinoa (or other pseudo-grain or grain) with diced tomato, cucumber, parsley, chopped Sicilian olives, parsley or mint, and a lemony yoghurt dressing.
Baked French Toast
Whisk eggs, milk, cream, caster sugar, vanilla extract and a little lemon or orange zest. Lightly toast thick slices of brioche then layer in a greased baking Pour over most of the egg mixture, reserving a little to brush up over the top of bread. Scatter over sliced almonds and bake until golden and bubbling. Serve with fresh berries, sliced fruit and mascarpone.
Turkish Tasting Platter
Especially wonderful in summer, this style of brunch lends itself to an al fresco situation. Hard boil eggs (two per person is good), and serve them in a basket for everyone to peel and enjoy with slices of tomato, cucumber, watermelon, feta, crusty bread, and a wedge of honeycomb. Amp up the authenticity with dainty glasses of hot apple tea, or strong Turkish coffee.
Simple Noodle Soup
Enjoyed all over Asia as a first meal. Ladle an umami broth over cooked egg, rice, or ramen noodles, and top with steamed bok choy, bean sprouts, succulent pork belly chashu, and halved boiled eggs with still-runny yolks.
Kimcheese & Bacon Toastie
Grill streaky bacon til crisp. Butter sliced bread on both sides, then layer with vintage cheddar, havarti, the grilled bacon, kimchi, with a fried egg as an optional extra. Enclose with another slice of buttered bread and toast in a hot pan or toasted sandwich maker until the outside is golden and crisp and cheese is oozing.
Sichuan Mince on Toast
Brown pork mince with garlic and onion, add a small amount of ground Sichuan peppercorns, a splash of both soy sauce and black vinegar, and fry until mince starts to crisp up. Serve on toasted sourdough or rye bread, topped with a fried egg and chopped spring onion, with a drizzle of sesame oil and soy sauce.
Gluten-Free Banana Pancakes
Whisk mashed banana with eggs, LSA, and a little coconut sugar, and cook spoonfuls in a hot greased pan till lightly golden on each side. Go to town with whatever toppings you love!
Make a slit in the casing of Classic Pork Sausages and remove the filling. Heat a frypan with a little oil and add the sausage filling, smashing it down with a spatula to form a kind of patty. Cook on each side till golden brown. Serve in brioche buns with a crisp fried egg, sliced avocado and tomato and a mustardy mayo.

Morning Sunshine Mocktail
In a cocktail shaker vigorously shake freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice with 1-2 teaspoons of orange flower water, 50ml sugar syrup or runny honey, 1 egg white, and lots of ice. Strain into glasses. Add a naughty nip of gin or vodka if you like!
