Photos of You by Tammy Robinson review – it’s never too late to fall in love

photos of youA refreshing take on a romantic read, Photos of You by Tammy Robinson is the funny, compassionate and heartbreaking story you need to pick up this summer.

Photos of You follows Ava Green who at the age of twenty eight finds out the cancer she has been fighting for the past three years is now terminal. Faced with the realization that the next few months will be her last, Ava refuses to let her diagnosis take her one big dream away from her – she wants to have a wedding. The problem? She has no boyfriend, no money and no time…but that won’t stop Ava.

Her vivacious band of BFFs and her family gather around her to help make her dream come true and once the media gets involved (thanks to her friend Amanda), her once private wish becomes a nationwide spectacle.

Queue handsome photographer James Gable. James is smart, thoughtful, witty and all the things you want in a book boyfriend (or a real one) and after they meet Ava is left with one big decision – is she brave enough to let love in and strong enough to say goodbye?

How does the book stack up?

It has been a long time since I read a love story that took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride as much as this book did. For every raw emotional moment that has you reaching for the tissues, there is a barrel of fun and laughter waiting for you on the next page to remind you that the only things that really hold value in life are love and friendship.

Tammy Robinson has a phenomenal writing style that is reminiscent of Jojo Moyes and Nicholas Sparks and completely draws you in from the very first page making this a one-sit read. Before you know it you find yourself on edge really rooting for Ava and James and as the story progresses, longing for a miracle that will give them their happy ending.

Grab the book, some tissues and a glass or two of wine and settle in for what is sure to be your new favourite book. An uplifting, heart-warming and emotional read, you won’t be sorry you gave Photos of You a chance.
