With summer just around the corner we are about to enter the most wonderful time of year. With that comes office parties, end of year celebrations, sports club breakups – you name it and it’s happening! Every other weekend is full with events and the one thing we all don’t have a lot of is time. Lucky for you I have some easy tips to keep you looking fresh faced and fabulous this party season.
Keep it matte
Using a matte foundation is going to prevent you from looking like an oily, sweaty mess. It will also help avoid you looking shiny in any photos because let’s be honest – there’s always someone with a camera out ready to post on Instagram.
Rock a statement lippy
Lipstick is one of the easiest ways to add a bit of colour into your look and make it pop a little. Choosing a bright colour like a classic red gives you a beautifully put together look and adds a bit of Hollywood glam. Also FYI – if you use a blue-based red it will make your teeth look whiter. #winning!
Add a little sparkle
There are a million different ways that you could add a little sparkle to your make-up look and, no I’m not talking about wrapping tinsel through your ponytail! The easiest way is to add a shimmer of highlighter over the top of your cheekbones and just under your eyebrow arch. If you’re feeling really game opt for a sparkly eyeliner on top of your eyelids or a glittery eyeshadow. The confidence you will gain from sparkling like the the star on top of a Christmas tree will shine through your makeup anyway!
Invest in a setting spray
During the summer months we need to put away our powders ladies. Put them at the back of your draw and don’t touch them until autumn. Instead opt for a setting spray to finish off your makeup look. The benefits of a spray are that it holds your makeup look together for longer and also prevents it from slipping off your face with the heat. Setting sprays are so lightweight that you will avoid looking heavy and ‘cake faced’.
So no need to worry about bad photos appearing on social media without your approval. These quick and easy steps will leave you looking too glam to give a damn what anyone else thinks!
