Ahh spring has arrived, the flowers are growing, lambs are in the fields and… Hayfever. The pesky itchy eyes and constant sneezing just never seem to go away. I suffer with hayfever myself and have found some amazing hacks that will stop the spring sniffles in no time!
Vaseline around your nostrils to trap pollen
It sounds silly but it works! You don’t have to use a lot, just a small layer either in your nostrils or just on the outside. This will prevent pollen from creeping its way in there!
Wear wraparound sunglasses to stop pollen getting into your eyes
Itching eyes is one of the many problems us hayfever gals deal with so, wind and pollen are the enemy!. Invest in some wrap around glasses! These will block pollen from flying into your eyes.
Shower and change your clothes after you have been outside to wash pollen off
It may seem difficult but it will make a huge difference! Walking around outside will collect a lot of pollen on your clothes. Taking them off immediately will lower the amount of pollen you will pass onto your household furniture and surfaces.
Keep windows and doors shut as much as possible
It may be getting warmer and fresh air is necessary. But if you live near a lot of trees or bushes, I recommend trying to keep the windows and doors closed as much as possible. This will stop wind blowing pollen straight into your home.
Vacuum regularly and dust with a damp cloth
Carpet can hold pollen deep into its fibers so vacuuming regularly will stop a big build up. As well as dusting with a damp cloth. Dust can sometimes disguise the pollen sitting on window sills or skirtings. Using a damp cloth will pick up the pollen so you can wash it away. Dry dusting will just move the pollen to different areas of your home.
