The Best Accessories for Braving the Cold

Baby it’s cold outside! There’s no doubting that fact.

Snow capped mountains, temperatures that don’t soar into double digits, and frozen toes in the morning are all signs that we have plummeted into the depths of winter. But just because temperatures have dropped doesn’t mean your fashion sense needs to as well. With a few key accessories you can still keep warm and look good because that’s the ultimate goal this winter, am I right ladies?!

Leather gloves

If anyone ever tries to tell you that leather gloves went out in the eighties then you need to inform them that they are so wrong. Leather is the ultimate winter staple. Leather itself is a fantastic insulator and keeps the warmth in and cold air out. You don’t want them too tight but investing in a good set of gloves will last you a few winters at least.

Ponytail beanie

If you’re like me, then putting on a beanie provides warmth but it’s not flattering in the slightest. Ponytail beanies are the best at allowing you to keep your head and ears protected while not trapping your ponytail in place. They’re a multipurpose investment because if you chose to wear your hair down it will also look good.

Fluffy earmuffs

Not only are these super cute but they are warm like you wouldn’t believe. The faux fur makes them comfy on your ears and you would be amazed at the heat you can trap in by wearing these. You can still wear your ear phones underneath them and listen to your favourite morning playlist on your morning commute.

Tartan scarf

The word tartan is traditionally associated with a deep red colour but I’m pleased to tell you that that coloured tartan also went out in the early 2000’s. This is a stylish way to spice up a simple scarf that has been added to your outfit. It’s not overpowering yet gives you a gorgeous pattern. It works really well in an outfit with block colours such as black jeans, white top and leather jacket.
