10 hair hacks you need in your life

There may have been a time when we would’ve dedicated an hour to getting our hair looking runway ready, but those days are long gone because now we’re out in the world being adults. Between work, friends, relationships, cute dogs, hitting up the gram and pre-planning survival naps, there just aren’t enough hours in the day.

If you’re still wanting to rock that fresh salon look or just need to give your luscious locks some much needed TLC, we’ve put together 10 hacks that helps us go from drowned rat to supermodel in minutes.

Add volume – get more volume by moving your part around. Your hair will flatten out if you wear it the same way day in and out so mix things up. This is a fab hack for anyone rocking thin hair.

Tame fly aways – spray a toothbrush with hairspray and run it around your hairline to tame any frizzies that are ruining your look.

Scalp massages – more of a slow burn hack, but massaging your scalp helps stimulate your roots so fresh locks start to grow. You’ll be whipping your long hair back and forth before you know it.

Know when to brush – did you know you can get split ends from brushing wet, post shampoo’d hair? Okay so it’s not the only way, but save your hair some grief by remembering to only brush once it is dry.

Overnight curls – don’t waste time trying to cram in a curling session. Split your hair into 4 – 10 braids (depending on thickness) and go to sleep with them. Alternatively, we are also massive fans of a low bun to get those natural morning curls. Need some tutorial help? Jump on YouTube to see how the vloggers do it.

Bobby pins – girl, turn that pin upside down. If you missed the memo, the wavy side of the bobby pin is supposed to go down to hold it in place. Flip it over and start living your best life.

Hair masks – get in the kitchen and DIY yourself up some organic hair masks to replenish your locks. You can whip up any of these masks in less then 5 minutes and leave it in while you binge watch an episode of whatever it is you’re currently obsessed with.

When in doubt, bun it out – there are a tonne of quick and easy ways to throw your hair up in a bun and let’s be honest, it is a fail safe for when you CBF washing it or you sleep through your alarm.

Beach waves – if you want year round beach waves for that fresh summer look, invest in some sea-salt spray or texturiser and prepare to have your life changed. Check out these 3 tips for perfect waves.

Dry shampoo is your best friend – if you aren’t using dry shampoo, what are you even doing? Perfect for making it look you’ve washed your hair, it also doubles as a volumiser and works in seconds.

I tried the homemade mask Avocado, honey and mayo for natural hair and it worked well in my hair. I am always trying to find natural products and I don’t like using the stuff in the shops that are full of chemicals. Thank you for sharing.

I was curious about the dry shampoo but read a comment that if you have sensitive scalp. But what caught my eye is the #7 hair masks – would like to try them out. Someone told me once to use just baking soda and water as shampoo and it’s organic.

My hair is thin, and I definitely notice an extra bounce when I shift the part to another side. The toothbrush idea is brilliant too. I always have fly aways. Now to stop myself brushing my hair when wet!

Omg… Toothbrush with hairspray for fly aways!!! what a hack!!! Where has this been all my life lol this is amazing cannot wait to try it out.
I tired some of that dry shampoo recently and sadly due to i think having quite sensitive scalp it made my head incredibly itchy all day and it made my hair look quite oily so I often use leave in conditioner mixed with a bit of hair gel so leaves soft and silky but stays in place too

I have never heard of the beach waves tips before but I love them! I love the way my hair looks after a swim or stroll on the beach so will have to keep an eye out for a similar product.

I have just recently started using dry shampoo! It’s great to give your hair some volume I find 🙂 The bobby pin thing I found out about a while ago (must confess was using them upside down lol). The changing your part thing is interesting and I guess makes sense so might try it!!
