Wanting to get a little taste of the high life? You will have no problem achieving that on level 38 at the highest rooftop bar in Auckland at Bar Albert! I was lucky enough to get to attend the lovely one year anniversary event held at the one-of-a-kind bar, and let me tell you that this place absolutely blew me away with how stunning this place truly is!
I’ve gone to my fair share of bars and restaurants in the past, but this place genuinely blew me away. From the exceptional service, gorgeous interior and absolutely stunning views. This bar really impressed me and is something I would recommend to anyone even if you are a lil low on the budget as simply the experience is worth buying a couple of drinks up there and the price of drinks are actually quite reasonable.
Upon entry to the Voco Hotel, we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who guided us to the elevator and sent us up. As soon as the elevator doors opened we were already greeted by some lovely people and guided towards the bar, where they took our coats and grabbed us a drink. Given that it is Auckland’s highest rooftop bar, I was definitely expecting a nice view however the views truly blew me away. The Bar is laid out so that you get a panoramic view of the city which makes for ultimate photos;). We were very lucky to finally get a lovely sunny day and arrived just as the sun was setting which made for an absolutely extraordinary sunset.
Not only the view but the interior and lay out of this bar was incredible! The main theme was very luxurious with lots of brown leather, balanced with dim yellow tone lighting which is personally my favourite part as I don’t enjoy bright lights as it doesn’t feel welcoming or cosy, however, Bar Albert was the definition of cosy.
One of my favourite parts was the outside area. With stunning outdoor furniture, plants and once again dim lighting, this made for a very intimate area that would be perfect for a date night or a night out with the girls! The best part about this area was the skylight above. The entire ceiling was gone which made for that perfect “rooftop” feel.
We were very lucky in getting the chance to try their different drinks, which were so delicious. My favourite was this stunning wine called Kumeu River Pinot Gris. If you love sweet wine like I do, then this was to die for! Genuinely the best wine I’ve ever had and will definitely be my go-to for future reference, so 100% recommend it! We then got to try the Vulcan Lane cocktails which were so yummy! They weren’t too strong but you could tell there was still a good amount of liquor in there. Considering how luxurious the bar is the prices of drinks and food are honestly very good.
My experience here was well worth it with both me and my partner being blown away by the sheer beauty of the place as well as the amazing service. I would 100% recommend popping in for a visit even if it’s just for one drink! As the bar itself is so impressive that I plan on coming here again and again.
