This show features such a wide variety of characters (plus one of the best ensemble casts) and explores the politics of prison life in a raw, dramatic and at times hilarious way. Why we love it: You may not have heard of this show, but it is one of the best comedies to come out in a while. Filled with NSFW humour with that classic British tone, creator and star Michaela Coel brilliantly explores family, life and love through the naive eyes of her main character Tracey. Trust us, this will fast become a cult classic.

In a small town where everyone knows everyone, a peculiar incident starts a chain of events that leads to the disappearance of a child – which begins to tear at the fabric of an otherwise peaceful community. Dark government agencies and seemingly malevolent supernatural forces converge on the town while a few locals begin to understand that there’s more going on than meets the eye.

Why we love it: Speaking of cult classics, it doesn’t get much better than 80s inspired Stranger Things. The soundtrack is creepy and feels very nostalgic plus the main character is a badass little girl named Eleven.

This genre bending show is at its core about family and if you can get past the gore, you won’t be able to stop watching.

Featuring one of the more famous casts, this shows packs a punch with its exploration of love, marriage, trauma, gossip and family. Based on a book, you won’t want to miss delving deep into this shows mystery.
